Melissa & Doug Water WOW! Vehicles
Kohls · $8.99
Fill the little pen with water, color, and the hidden pictures show up. Let it dry and it's blank again, ready for round two (or round forty). Zero mess in the car, which is really why we love it.

Every year I'm always scrambling to fill stockings at the last minute. The big gifts are wrapped and hidden (hopefully somewhere where they can be found by snooping eyes) and just when I think everything is ready, I remember the stockings!
So here's our 2026 list of stocking stuffer gifts people actually want and organized (you're welcome) by who they're for: little kids, big kids, teens, grown-ups and the candy crowd. Most are under $25 with a splurge or two for the kid (or kid at heart) who's been very good this year.

Tonies · $19.99
If there's a Toniebox at your house, a new character is the easiest stocking win there is. Set it on the box and the stories and songs start, no screen involved. This one's a good fit for families who already have a Scout Elf making mischief all December.
Kohls · $10
The same two knobs and the same shake-to-erase, shrunk down to fit in a stocking toe. Little kids think it's hilarious. Grown-ups will want a turn. Love a Etch a Sketch!
Dylan's Candy Bar · $12
I mean, come on! A big, round Santa face on a stick that sticks out the top of the stocking. Heads up for allergies: it contains milk and soy.
Quince · $20.90
Real cashmere for about twenty bucks, sized for kids, and it goes in the washing machine. That last part matters when it's going to get dropped in a slushy parking lot by January. Quince is my go to...so many amazing options so even if this isn't the one for you, check it out.
Kohls · $14.99
Seven puzzle pieces, a zip-up carrying case and a book with 202 puzzles that start easy and get properly tough. It's made for ages 8 and up, and it's the kind of thing that disappears into a backpack and comes out at every restaurant wait.
Kohls · $10
All 108 cards, just tiny. It's a real, playable deck for ages 7 and up, and it fits in a coat pocket for snow days and holiday travel.
Kohls · $10
The card game kids love to win and hate to lose, in a box about the size of a deck of gum. Quick rounds, lots of shrieking. Pair it with the tiny UNO and you've got a whole game night in two stocking toes.
Kohls · $26.99
For the kid who's been watching F1 with you (or without you). Speed Champions sets are small enough for a stocking and come together in an afternoon, which is about as long as anything lasts on Christmas Day.
rhode · $20
The lip tint every teen in your life has already asked for, probably by name. It's a sheer wash of color in a little tube, and it's cruelty-free and vegan.
ohora · $16
Salon-looking gel nails without the salon. The strips stretch to fit different nail sizes, then set under a UV lamp. That makes them good for a teen who'd rather do her own nails before a holiday party.
Kohls · $24.99
For the kid who loses an earbud a month: a true-wireless pair cheap enough that you won't be too upset when it happens again.
goodr · $35
Cheap-enough-to-lose sunglasses with ridiculous names, like this limited-edition pair with chrome mirrored lenses called Take a Bite Outta This. Good for ski trips, soccer sidelines and looking cool in the car line.
BaubleBar · $12
A tiny glittery snow globe with Buddy the Elf inside, about 2 inches across, made to pin on a backpack or a jean jacket. Note that it's final sale.
Kohls · $54.99
Our stocking splurge. It's waterproof, dust-proof and drop-proof (IP68), and plays up to 8 hours on a charge, so it can live in the shower, the backpack or the hockey bag. Too pricey? The House of Marley Jammin speaker is $39.99, splash-proof (IPX5) and plays up to 14 hours.
Thehouseofmarley · $39.99
The cheaper speaker that doesn't feel cheap. It's wrapped in fabric made from reclaimed cotton, hemp and recycled plastic, it's splash-proof, and it plays up to 14 hours on a charge.
Quince · $32
Cashmere gloves for $32, in about a half-dozen colors from oatmeal to varsity red. A small luxury for the parent who's been wearing the same stretched-out pair since 2019.
The Spice House · $20
Coffee sugars made with Intelligentsia's Black Cat Espresso, for the person whose morning cup is basically a personality trait. Sprinkle it in hot coffee or cold brew, or on top of oatmeal and cookies. One note: the sets don't come in a gift box, so bring your own bow.
Art of Tea · $8
Four pyramid sachets (English Breakfast, Bright Eyed, Pacific Coast Mint and Egyptian Chamomile) for the price of a latte. It's a nice little nudge to sit down for ten minutes on December 26.
Compartés · $19
Extra dark hot cocoa made with black cocoa, in a limited-edition holiday tin covered in gold stars. It's for the grown-up who stays up after the kids go to bed, and who wants their cocoa without the mini marshmallows.
Kohls · $11.99
Three little holiday-scented candles, small enough to tuck into a stocking and cheap enough for the teacher, the neighbor and the aunt.
Compartés · $12
Milk chocolate with cream cheese, crushed graham cracker and cherries, made in Los Angeles. The wrappers are pretty enough that this works as a gift on its own.
Dylan's Candy Bar · $10
A treat bag of fruity gummies shaped like trees and wreaths. It's the easiest way to fill the empty space at the bottom of a stocking.
Reader Q&A
Things they'd pick out themselves: a rhode Peptide Lip Tint ($20), ohora gel nail strips ($16), goodr sunglasses ($35) or a cheap pair of wireless earbuds. If you want one bigger gift in the stocking, the JBL Go 5 speaker is waterproof and small enough to fit.
Small upgrades to things they use every day work best. Quince's Mongolian cashmere gloves are $32, a four-flavor Art of Tea sampler is $8, and The Spice House's Intelligentsia coffee sugars are $20 for the coffee person.
The World's Smallest UNO, Exploding Kittens and Etch A Sketch are $10 each, Melissa & Doug's Water WOW! pad is $8.99, and Art of Tea's sachet sampler is $8. A $10 bag of Dylan's gummies fills the toe.
Pocket-size games, a new character for the Toniebox, a small LEGO set, lip tint, socks or a tea sampler all fit in a stocking and outlast the chocolate. Mix in one sweet thing so the candy fans aren't disappointed.
Set a total per stocking first and fill it with a few small things rather than one expensive one, so there's plenty to pull out. If you do splurge, make it one item and keep the rest under $15.
