I have a very valuable piece of information that I will share with you. It’s the Number One Thing that you should consider when buying a diaper bag, and it comes from a mother that has had at least quadruple the number of diaper bags as I have had kids.
Your number one consideration should be: How much does the bag weigh before I load it up with wipes, bottles, sippy cups, snacks, toy cars and princess cell phones?
Because I promise you, no matter how much you like the look of a bag, if you feel like you are lugging around a sack of bricks, you won’t use it for long.
I’ve seen a few bags that come close to the ideal pre-loaded bag weight, but nothing that compares with Polarn O. Pyret’s nursing bag. I’ve tested it on outings laden with full water bottles, lunch for three, plus requisite diapers, wipes, toys, and my four-pound wallet, and every time I pick it up it feels empty. I’ve even been spotted making friends pick it up too to exclaim over its feather-lightness.
It’s got all the pockets and and key fobs and easy-care materials plus the changing pad and wipes case that we expect from a diaper bag these days, but I’m extra impressed with the way that the insulated interior divided section (white! so you can see what’s in there!) comes out when you don’t need it and the fact that a laptop fits perfectly. So not only is it a diaper bag that doesn’t weigh you down, it’s also a laptop bag for those days when you are out and about without kids. Or both. Because did I mention that you can fit a laptop in with all the wipes, bottles, sippy cups, snacks, toy cars and princess cell phones?
Although at that point, admittedly, it might start to feel like there is actually something in the bag. -Carrie

I admit it. Carrie made me pick up this bag several times, and I was totally impressed. I think it has some sort of anti-gravity technology, actually.
Plus– hello, cuteness! It looks good enough to keep as a laptop/travel bag once you’re out of diaper/sippy mode, too.
