The only thing more trippy than watching a guy in a giant yellow neoprene robot costume singing “Don’t Bite Your Friends” to a hiphop beat on your big screen TV might just be watching it live.
And I don’t want to hear it from you cynics. Any children’s show that features Amy Sedaris as the tooth fairy and gets my kids singing along with the Roots is a-okay by me.
Which is why we’re so excited to let you know that Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: There’s a Party in My City is heading to Radio City Music hall in NYC October 2 and 3–and some other venues around the country–and we’ve got a special presale offer just for Cool Mom Picks readers.
From everything I’ve heard about past shows, this is not just Muno and Foofa doing some lame song-and-dance numbers in a theater. It’s awesome music. And technological magic. It’s DJ Lance. It’s Biz Markie. It’s animation. And surprise famous people (good ones!) for the Super Music Friends Show and Dancey Dance segments, which are practically guaranteed to get your kids out of their big plush red seats and shaking their preschool booties.
Check out highlights of last year’s tour here and tell me that doesn’t look like a super special treat for any kid. And uh, their YGG obsessed parents. –Liz
And psst…if you’re not in NYC (although Radio City is about as fab as it gets so I say it’s worth a trip) and you’re an American Express cardholder, you can get your own presale tickets to Yo Gabba Gabba Live in 48 cities now, from Rochester to Louisville, to Spokane. Even Canada.
Tell me about it! 🙂 I heard DJ Lance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show a few weeks ago and he was selling his live tour. I can’t wait! When these guys roll into Michigan, My little buddy and I will be there for sure!
We got our presale tix for the LA show in November! So excited!!!
Just got four tickets to the VA show! So expenive ($182) but so excited!
I bought mine on Wednesday, anxiously awaiting the opening of Ticketmaster like I did when I was buying Duran Duran tickets in 1985. WHOO HOO!
LOL My four year old runs around singing “Don’t Bite Your Friends” and people that don’t know about the song give me a funny look. As much as that show annoys me I would break down get tickets. Glad to know a little more about the show.
