We know that “Jeggings” are pretty much the fashion word for fall, and while we will probably be making fun of ourselves in ten years for it, we’re kind of in love with them right now. Especially on kids.
My own girls have a couple of pairs these days and I love how they take the sturdy, casual look of denim but make them soft, comfy and playground-ready. Besides, they just love saying “jeggings.”
It’s not hard to put a cute outfit together either. Here are a few looks that I picked out from our sponsor Old Navy (thanks Old Navy!), that are as affordable as they are adorable. –Liz
[don’t miss some great looks and an AMAZING giveaway after the jump!]
Of course, you have to start with the jeggings, right? There’s a pair of baby jeggings ($16.50) in 2 different washes, but if you have a grade-schooler, there’s an entire jegging category with four styles to choose from. Sign o’ the times.
I nearly knocked over my own kids to snatch up this toggle sweater at Old Navy last week. The quality is fantastic in person and the length is perfect for indoor/outdoor fall days over a pair of stretchy leggings. $32.
You want more volume on top to keep the outfit from looking like gym wear. Blousey tunics are always a good bet and I like this floral tunic with smocking. You can also pair a dress that’s slightly outgrown over jeggings and call it a tunic. It’s a sneaky way to get longer wear out of your clothes.
Stick a tutu over jeggings, plus a henley shirt or a fun tee for a super cute layered look that’s just enough girlie. This tutu’s on sale for just $10 and the shirt is $5 (seriously) but in limited sizes.
Unless the jeggings are calf-length, I’m not crazy about lowtops with
them, save for maybe a thick skateboarding sneaker. Shoot for hightops
or boots of any length which also keep kids cozy and warm. (And man, how
my girls love boots.) I can’t believe how great these faux leather baby riding boots are for $19.50!
My favorite footwear pick though has to be the silver glitter side-zip boots for baby which have a chunkiness that offsets the fairy princess sparklicious glitter-doll thing. $19.50, and I wish they came in adult sizes.
And
in case you’re wondering, yes, little boys can get away with the
jegging look too, just the same as they wear cotton karate pants. Keep
the fit a little wider (Old Nave does a good job on this in their baby
selection), and pair with pretty much any top you own. Boys are easy
that way.
Check out Old Navy’s Baby Sale online and in store with great deals starting at $5. Yes, $5.
This is the second of a 2-part content series, courtesy of our sponsor, Old Navy. (Yay!) The content and picks are ours and ours alone – and we had the best time doing it.

Love those glitter boots!
I would buy the patterned cross-strap ballet flats in charcoal pinstripe.
A dress for my daughter.
Today I’d get the Faux-Fur Hooded Cardigans for Baby.
Jeggings of course
I would buy the Toggle Sweater Coats for Baby. It is so cute and would make a great fall sweater.
I would buy the Graphic Jersey Bodysuit for baby — the green one with the monkey. Because, well, because I love monkeys and intend to dress my new little man in many of them!
I would buy the Hooded Micro Performance Fleece One-Piece for Baby, it is too cute!
The floral tunic with smocking – love it!
Thanks!
I would buy the Giraffe Halloween costume for my one year old son! Sooo cute!
I’d pick up one of those cute Corduroy dresses.
I would buy my daughter some jeggings. It is a fight every morning to get her in jeans, and I think the jeggings would be warm enough for me, and comfy enough for her!
I like the Toggle Sweater Coats and boots. The the floral tunic. And the tutu dresses. I think I may love it all, lol.

Love the riding boots!
The toggle sweater…all the way.
My boys need some new ‘kick around’ tennies for fall. I am really digging the High-top canvas sneaker offered.
I would scoop up some jeggings for my little girl to wear under the dresses that are way to short and she insists on wearing anyway. Then the dresses will just look like long shirts. then i will go crazy with buying sweaters for my girls as well.
Skinny jeans for my babe!
I would buy some of those sweaters that are on sale.
I think I might have to buy the new Jet Sweater, super cute and warm for the winter!
I love the cross-front hoodies for baby
I think some cords for the whole fam!
I would have to go for what we NEED first, which would be some new jeans for the hubby since he just lost 30 lbs over the summer and needs some jeans for the fall, especially since Old Navy jeans are so timeless and durable. Once we have that covered, I would have to get some of the cute jeggings for my daughter, since she absolutely loves to wear leggings and isn’t really a fan of jeans, so this would be a great compromise for us, esp. since they are so cute. Then I’d go for the adorable little giraffe costume for my baby boy’s first Halloween. Good thing Old Navy’s prices are so affordable, so I still could get myself the cute cropped toggle cape sweater.
I would buy that sweater!!! I have an old Navy Sweater that we bought 2 years ago (cable knit) that my oldest has worn so much and it still looks GREAT!
Printed Jersey Sleepers for Baby
I would buy a peacoat, I’ve always wanted one, but never wanted to spend the money.
I really like the Women’s Cowl-Neck Jersey Dresses. Great material, great cut!
Toggle Sweater!
I’d have to go with the Women’s Long Tie-Belt Wrap “Jet Sweater” Cardigan. Mama needs some new clothes! 🙂
I was just there today and they have some super cute stuff right now. If I won the gift card, I’d first pick up a Superman costume for each of my boys.
Oh my that toggle sweater is too cute. I would definitely buy it.
