Every year right about now, I am so excited to whip out my fall wardrobe that I start wearing my new sweaters in hopes of forcing the weather to get cold. It’s always too early, which results in an extra-sweaty couple of weeks. I would not put my kids through this uncomfortable process, but getting an exclusive sneak peek at the just-released-today Fall 2011 collection from CMP favorite Appaman has made me very seriously reconsider.

If you’re not familiar with Appaman (what?!), they’re a Brooklyn-inspired, urban-adorable, and utterly wearable clothes line — in other words, ridiculously cool street clothes that are also completely kid-comfortable and made to last.

We’re especially fond of the blazers and jackets in the fall collection, like the mini professor tweed blazer (check out those corduroy elbow patches) and down-filled polar coat for boys.

For girls, we love the zigzaggy moto jacket and gorgeous Madeline peacoat with a unique shape that’s classic but stylish.

I’m also a huge fan of the boys’ cozy schoolboy cardigan and girls’ puffy vest that looks like it belongs on an ’80s ski slope.

The outerwear runs in the $80-$100 price range–which is not bad at all, considering it’ll get worn almost every day. Once it’s actually chilly out, of course. C’mon, fall!.

Congratulations to the winner, Arely C.!  Her girl will be all set for the fall with her new Appaman backpack filled with hats, mittens, scarves and a long-sleeve tee.
