When I caught that pearls are in this season as a hot jewelry trend, I much wrote them off at first because I’m really not a pearls kind of a gal. But I am a bit of a trend watcher after all, and I discovered, after a bit of searching, that these are not your grandmother’s strands. There are tons of modern ways to wear pearl jewelry from simple to a little edgy. Here, some of my favorite, pearliest jewelry picks, to keep you on trend this season, all of which I think will be wardrobe classics long after this trend is over.
I’m a huge Karen Ko jewelry fan when it comes to sending gifts, but have yet to take the plunge for myself. This gorgeous Resort Sweet & Vicious Necklace that combines pearls and spikes (yes!) might be exactly the piece I need. 9 ($125, K20 by Karen Ko)
I’d get lots of wear out of this cool pearl and gold cuff, which pairs fabulously with a little black dress for a night out, or a pair of jeans and booties for running around during the day. I was surprised to see it’s Kenneth Jay Lane, actually. ($80, on sale at Charm & Chain)
If you’re a little more romantically-inclined with your jewelry, I’m not sure what I love more about these pearl earrings at ModCloth. The art deco detail or the amazing price. A wonderful, affordable addition to your jewelry box. ($24.99, Modcloth)
Even though this triple gold pearl necklace by Fallon is a bit more traditional than my personal taste, the chunky clasp adds a funky twist that I really love. I might even consider sliding it forward so the clasp shows along the side. ($200, Shopbop)
I love this aptly named In Chaos pearl bracelet that does a fabulous job of mixing pearls with other stones into a chunky, layered charm-style bracelet that’s so in now. It’s a cool way to funkify your wardrobe if you tend to dress on the preppy side, but even edgier mamas could make this look cool. ($148, Henri Bendel with free shipping)
For a small investment to get you into the pearl game, check out this a fun alternative to the single pearl stud earrings. These pearl pop studs have a pavé finish that gives them a little more edge and is a nice option when you tend to leave the house with nothing more than earrings. ($22, Bauble Bar)
I’m pretty sure this Black Roxen necklace by Andrea Bocchio at CMP fave Brika was made for me. Perfect over a white t-shirt, or under a white oxford, it’s a statement piece sure to garner tons of compliments. Especially if you never take it off. And wow–the price is way more affordable than what I was expecting. ($98, Brika)
