I’m all about food gifts for men. Maybe because I love the men in my life, and the men in my life happen to love food. If you’re with me, then I’ve got three fantastic resources for you if you’re all about seriously cool food gifts that have nothing to do with cheese logs or lollipop towers.

Mantry
First, there’s Mantry. I discovered them last year and loved them so much, my own dad got a subscription from me for Christmas. Their one-, three-, and six-month subscription food boxes are still an extraordinary gift idea for any guy who’s down with the likes of gourmet salsa, small-batch Alabama BBQ sauce, seriously good bacon, or single bean origin coffee that makes you want to toss the K-cups forever.
And now Mantry is taking care of the cocktail lovers out there with a brand new Mantry Craft Cocktails at Home crate.
The beautifully packaged gift box (above) comes with four artisan drink mixers for creating classic cocktails, including the awesome Stu’s This is Bloody Mary Mix which I’ve had the pleasure of imbibing first-hand. If that’s any indicator of the quality of the other three mixers, this is a huge winner.
Man Crates
Another new–or to me–gift idea hails from the no-fuss (seriously), fairly hilarious Man Crates. With themes that suit everyone from the zombie apocalypse obsessed, to the beef jerky fan, to the retro gamer geek. I checked out the personalized whisky crate and it’s definitely a fun novelty. There’s no fine aged whiskeys or fancy artisanal pistachios here; it’s more about the personalized rocks glasses, and maybe the Tovolo ice sphere molds if he’s a serious drinker. In fact, it even comes in a sealed wooden crate, and when they say sealed, they mean it. You need the enclosed crowbar to get it open.
I will say some of the Man Crates are less about the food and more about the experience. I mean, the “Premium” Jerky Crate does include Corn Nuts and Planter’s Trail Mix. In other words, these boxes are for the dude who’s going to remember the fact that he cracked that baby open himself without safety glasses, more than he cares about the brand of beer nuts in the Legends of Baseball crate.
That said, I think that Grill Master crate (above) looks pretty awesome. And the brass knuckle meat tenderizer (seriously) is the piece de resistance.
Mouth
Finally, this year our friends at Mouth.com added their online liquor store, featuring the kind of carefully curated selection of booze that would go with the mixers from Mantry. Check out their cocktail kits category for all kinds of gift collections, from the $95 Holiday Cheers gift set to the pricier gin or bourbon-every-month subscriptions.
