I actually had to endure such a conversation with my 76 year old father (who imagines that he is a feminist) complaining about women like her for “trying so hard to get attention” when they should be focused on more important things. Not sure what those more important things should be. He then segues into an encounter at the DMV while renewing his license. He describes how the clerk, about my age he points out, was wearing a V-neck top, makeup and (GASP) JEWELRY which every one knows means she wants people to notice her so he did the right thing and flirted with her to make her day.
Of course that is why a 50 something woman like me would put on makeup and jewelry. Of course it is!…that’s what I said to Dad.
Sadly, that went over his head.
It does irk me to no end that women my age have reached our expiration date while men my age and older seem to have no such date.
