We’ve been binging on the Olympics at our house, and it has us seeing gold, silver, and bronze. (Go Team USA!) Now, our love for the medals is spilling over into our closets too, because a little metallic accent is always a good thing. And metallic shoes for kids are the new cool look, just in time for back-to-school shopping. We’ve been seeing gold and silver metallic sneakers and flats on everyone from high school boys to preschool girls. This is a look everyone seems to want to get in on, and we get it. We can’t resist it either.
So, we’ve rounded up 12 of our favorite silver, gold, and even rose gold shoes that are winning back-to-school fashion. Our only question: do they come in our size too?

We’ve always been big fans of the way Plae lets our kids customize their shoes with velcro straps in their favorite color or pattern, but these new gold high tops (also at top) in their Max style are at the top of my kids’ wish lists this fall.
I love the retro-meets-hip-hop vibe I’m getting from these metallic sporty high tops from Old Soles. I like that their gold (shown here) is a very muted shade, compared with some of the more glitzy pairs we’ve found. They also come in silver, though, if cool colors are more your look.
Our boys and girls both are loving these sporty gold Nike Air Force 1 low tops. This was originally a basketball shoe but over the years it’s morphed into more of a street shoe, perfect for kids who love skating or dancing.

For the little fashionista who emphatically does not want sneakers for school, we’re loving these gold (or silver) faux snakeskin mocs at Umi. They’re stylish enough to go with dresses or skirts, but they’re also rugged enough to endure an afternoon at the playground. If you’re worried it will fall off too much while she’s playing, you can get the version with a Mary Jane style strap instead.
Those of us down South who start school at the beginning of August have plenty of warm weather school days in the calendar, and these gold (or silver) sparkly water shoes at Native are perfect for those days you go from the playground straight to the pool. Because its’ just too hot to do anything else.
Rose gold is the it color right now, and I think these high tops from Steve Madden are the perfect mix of modern and retro — those bands around the ankle remind me of the Reebok Freestyles I wore all the time, back in the day.

My only complaint with classic Converse shoes is that the canvas eventually wears out on my kids’ extra-wide feet, but these leather silver Chuck Taylor All-Stars won’t! These would be adorable with skirts, jeans, or hey, out on the basketball court.
If your kid has an edgier sense of style, we’re loving these silver Naturino high-top sneakers. They almost have a Doc Marten feel to them with that strong patent leather toe and the faux snakeskin leather. These are shoes that will make a serious statement, whether you’re at PE or the school play.
How can you not love the classic K-swiss sneaker, especially when they’ve updated it to this cool silver leather? They also have an amazing iridescent rose gold version too, which I might order for myself. Because, why not?

We’re always happy with our TOMS sneakers, and their silver color is perfect for fall and right on into winter when we start thinking about snowflakes and twinkle lights. I’m not quite there yet, but these are getting me excited.
Classic VANS sneakers are always a good option for back to school, especially if you’ve not quite mastered shoe tying yet. They make the mornings so much faster. And now, their new silver and gold shoes are perfectly on trend too.
If your child believes there’s no such thing as an overstatement, then these blinged-out silver Viper high tops will be right up their alley. Even though these have a lot going on, it’s not too much — thanks to the silver on silver palate. These are rock-star quality, with a rock-star price tag. They might need to pitch in some of their chores money to help pay for these.
