Halloween with food allergies can be truly scary. Given that 1 in 13 children have food allergies these days, many families prefer to participate in non-candy treat campaigns like the Teal Pumpkin Project. It's a fantastic and inclusive way to celebrate the holiday and I'm grateful for the awareness. But the truth is, not getting any candy while trick-or-treating can be a bummer for kids with allergies, especially older ones like my 13-year-old who has peanut and tree nut allergies.
Thankfully, there are tons of allergy-friendly Halloween candy options. You can find many of them listed in our Allergy-Free Halloween Candy Guide from last year, but since you can never get enough candy on Halloween, I've found some new options to add to our list and, more importantly, to our kids' trick-or-treat bags.
My daughter was just complaining that she has never tasted candy corn (every brand we come across is made in a facility with peanuts), so I was thrilled to discover that YumEarth has made an allergy-friendly version for the Halloween season. In addition to being organic and naturally colored and flavored, this candy corn is also gluten-, dairy-, and nut-free!
My family loves Enjoy Life Foods and we're thrilled that they just released new Halloween Chocolate Mini Bars in time for the holiday! They come in three delicious flavors -- Dark Chocolate, Rice Milk Chocolate, and Rice Milk Crunch -- plus a variety pack that includes all three. All Enjoy Life Foods products are free from the eight most common food allergens, plus sesame, so these truly are a treat for all.

Before we get to the candy: On occasion, the list of ingredients in a food product or the items processed at a manufacturing facility can change, so please make sure to check the packaging carefully each time you make a purchase to be sure it’s safe for your kids.YumEarth Candy Corn

Peeps Marshmallow Spooky Cats
New for Halloween 2017, Peeps is offering Marshmallow Spooky Cats that are free of most allergens. While they don't list dairy in the ingredients for these candies, it's important to note that they carry a "may contain dairy" label because of risk of cross contamination.
No Whey Chocolate Pea Not Cups
No Whey Foods makes great chocolate that is free of the eight most common allergens, and I love that they have released individually wrapped Pea Not Cups for Halloween. Like the well-known peanut butter cups that everyone want to score in their trick-or-treat bag, these blend those two flavors together, but in an allergy-friendly way. Instead of peanuts, they use sunflower seed butter. Yum! Be sure to hop over to their site for other allergy-free Halloween candy options too.
