I’ve been recommending Aloisia Beauty’s Korean-inspired clean beauty products since they first launched. (Like, here for example!) The brand was co-created by a longtime colleague and to be honest, I’ve been so impressed by every product I’ve tried so far. Then, a thing happened: Kate Hudson posted to Instagram about their GLOW Exfoliating Soft Peel being a “new fave,” Adrian Lima said she was “obsessed” with it and of course it blew up.
As in like, every editor from basically every beauty magazine and website has been writing about this
Not one to rely on the advice of a celebrity alone, no matter how great her skin, I gave GLOW a try myself and…
Spoiler: This is going to be a glowing (ha) review.

GLOW Exfoliating Soft Peel is not exactly what I was thinking it would be — it’s not a gritty exfoliator, and it’s not a peel-off face mask. What I should have expected from the name is that it is a “soft peel” that happens to remove dead skin cells, smooth and brighten your skin, and prime it for absorbing your facial moisturizer. (Mine currently Neutrogena Hydro Boost, but I alternate with Avène Hydrance Rich Hydrating Cream when I need a little more moisture.)
Back to the GLOW: You just rub it onto clean skin with a few circular motions, and it balls up in little bits. Kind of like…rubber cement I guess?
Okay, that’s a terrible analogy because the little gel pieces are tiny and soft. But it’s the only thing I could think of.
Rinse it off and really, that’s it. Now, onto the results.

I can’t believe how soft — and yes, glowing — my skin looks and feels, and considering the process takes all of a minute, it’s a score for us those of us who prefer low-maintenance skincare products.
In fact, it’s so easy that you might be surprised how well it’s actually getting rid of that dull outer layer of skin; you don’t want to use it more than once every 3-4 days or you’ll feel over-exfoliated. (Been there, don’t recommend.)
As for me, my normal-to-dry, “aging” skin is looking pretty terrific. So I’m thrilled that bottle is so darn big. Because I’m going to be using this a long time. Me and Kate and all the other 5-star reviewers out there.
Find GLOW Exfoliating Soft Peel and other K-beauty products from Aloisia Beauty. I’m also a new fan of the Deep Hydration Aloe Gel Mist, which I keep right on my nightstand. It’s so refreshing if you run hot at night — or to keep in your bag if you’re beachbound.
