The only one more excited than my daughter for the new season of Yo Gabba Gabba! that begins today on Nick Jr., is me. I’m definitely ready to have some new lyrics stuck in my head besides It’s time to wash your hair, it’s time to wash your hair, it’s time to wash your hair, and this is how you do it.
YGG is absolutely the coolest thing going on TV today with a list of guest stars that any prime time show would covet. Coming up in season two: Jack Black (shown here), the Office’s Melora Hardin, The Roots alt comedy mainstays Jack McBrayer and Paul Scheer, and performances from bands you’ll know if you’re some indie Brooklyn hipster. Biz Markie and Mark Mothersbaugh are back too in recurring roles, all while teaching kids lessons in cooperation, playing nice, creativity and even recycling.
If you’re not familar with the show, think of as an Electric Company-Sid & Marty Krofft hybrid, with a little Pee Wee’s Playhouse thrown in for good measure. In other words, your kids will love it, but wasted college students are probably getting a kick out of it too. –Liz
