Coming Out of the Dark

Nothing says motherhood like waking up in the morning to find a little baby with his diaper on half-backwards and the snaps on his onesie done up wrong. Funny things happen at 2:30 AM when you can’t see a damn thing you’re doing.

I’ve tried nightlights — can’t sleep with them. And while I’ve heard some moms use flashlights, I just haven’t figured out how to change a diaper and hold it at the same time.
But ever since I got a hold of the Babeebrite, things are much improved. Created by mom Rachel Quittner and her husband, this little light clips onto anything up to one inch thick (shirts, robe, or even your rocking chair) and allows you to see what you need to, when you need to, all without the use of your hands.
It’s not only great for late night diaper changes, but even for finding stuff in your diaper bag — ever tried to forge around for a wayward binky while driving at night in your car with a crying baby in the backseat?
Now all I need is Lasik and I’ll be set. -Kristen
