When we got word that there’s a company doing cool things with kidswear made of vintage feed sacks, I have to say that the terms romantic, delicate, soft and cozy didn’t exactly spring to mind. But that’s just how I would describe the beautiful handmade children’s clothes from Seven Smooches.
The bloomers, of all things, are extraordinary – soft pastel patterns meticulously handcrafted and finished with six lovely mismatched buttons. This is like the ultimate indulgent baby accessory to go under your indulgent summer baby sundress. I’m also just loving the handmade girls twirly skirts and board shorts which were all mens’ shirts in a past life. And the floppy kids sunhats are a special alternative to the ubiquitous Gilligan hats.
Everything is 100% cotton and machine washable (whoo!) and definitely made to last. That said, these are not inexpensive pieces. They’re not a fortune, but they’re not Old Navy either. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for. –Liz
