Laurie Berkner, the melodic singing songstress that I most recently loved when I reviewed Rocketship Run, is back to raise awareness for a worthy organization called the Pajama Program by giving us a sort of singing Valentine.

Her love note comes in the form of a free downloadable song called Open Your Heart which was actually written to help raise awareness for the Pajama Program’s campaign by the same name.

With her guitar, crystal-clear voice, and touching lyrics, Open Your Heart is a reminder to us parents that our little I do it myself offspring need us more than they’ll let on. But, I think this is also a perfect song to represent the Pajama Program which supplies warm pajamas and new storybooks to kids living in group homes, orphanages and homeless shelters. For these kids, the best Valentines come in fleece with little feet attached. –Christina

Happy Valentine’s Day cool parents!

Download a copy of Open Your Heart from now until the end of the month at the Pajama Program’s website. And check out ways you can help the Pajama Program by visiting their site.
