When I first read about Kiwi Crate’s monthly craft subscriptions (here, in fact), I couldn’t wait to gift one to my niece. She clapped in delight each time her box arrived because she knew it’d be packed with fun, engaging, and lovely activities that were perfect for her four-year-old hands.

And now that Kiwi Crate has announced some new boxes–two of which seem perfect to mention on this Earth Day–I can’t wait to sign my niece up for a few more.

Kiwi Crate’s monthly boxes come jam-packed with loads of activities built around a certain theme, and their fun/educational gardening theme box just got even cooler. Along with flower pot decorating supplies and a science-based project involving growing seeds, the new-and-improved box for April features recipes for your beans and squash from Weelicious’ Catherine McCord. So along with growing the plants, you and your little helper can head to the kitchen and turn them into something delicious.

n addition to growing something green, an upcoming Kiwi Crate will go even greener in the other sense, with a theme based on wind power.

Though not all of Kiwi Crate’s monthly shipments are so outright eco-themed, they all come packaged in a sturdy box that is just begging to be recycled into something awesome. In fact, don’t even try putting it out for recycling–your kids won’t let you.  Christina
