Heaven knows we’ve featured plenty of tees and artwork featuring empowering messages for kids. Now we’re adding socks to the lineup.
I really like the premise behind the Notes to Self Socks founded by mom Laura Schmidt. They offer simple notes of affirmation that kids will see first thing in the morning, last thing when they go to bed, and if they’re my kids, throughout the day when they are ripping off their socks to do cartwheels in the living room.
They’re not super cheap, so I don’t think you’ll stock your whole sock drawer with them, but as a cool little gift–maybe with a new pair of back-to-school shoes–I think they’re nifty. My daughter definitely approves: “I wish I had those socks. They’re so cute. I really like the black ones.”
So there’s the 8 year-old endorsement for you.
There are kids and a few baby sizes–even some just for you adults, who might also need the occasional reminder that you’re good enough, you’re smart enough, and goshdarnit, you have really likeable feet. –Liz
