Every year since having kids, the huge build-up to Oscars night is followed by the sad realization that most of us have seen maybe…one of the best picture nominees? If we’re lucky? Oh, parenthood. However AMC theaters is continuing a genius tradition to help you out, maybe even give you a slight leg up in your Oscars poll this year.
AMC’s Best Picture Showcase allows you to see any of the 2015 Academy Awards Best Picture Nominees on the big screen in more than 50 cities around the country over two consecutive weekends.
Block off Saturday, Februray 14th, and you can spend Valentine’s Day catching Grand Budapest Hotel, Whiplash, Birdman, and cap it off with Selma at 4:55 p.m. On February 21st, you can see Boyhood, The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game, and American Sniper.

If you’re really an intrepid movie marathoner with a good babysitter, you can even get an all-day movie pass to see everything and save five bucks.
Even if your your own local AMC theater isn’t on the list (for shame!) there’s a great opportunity to select your theater and reserve a ticket for the movie you want on Feb 21. If 100 tickets are reserved, your movie is on! Get on social media and make it happen. This is where it pays to have friended all those people from high school that you were iffy about, huh?
Just know that if you have to be judicious about your choices (babysitting is expensive, yo!) you can currently catch Boyhood on Amazon Instant Video or download through iTunes. The same goes for Grand Budapest Hotel (Amazon, iTunes) which was released earlier this year. Both are worth a night in with your own homemade, not-sixteen-dollar-a-bucket popcorn.
Check out AMC’s Best Picture Showcase and get the big screen experience of the films you’ve missed before Oscars Sunday.
