We’ve been watching the news in shock and horror as fires ripped through California this past week. We know many friends and family who have been affected, and in an effort to lend some support, we’ve shared some ways you can help. And well, we just got word on another one that involves some of our favorite Cool Mom Picks artists.
You might have heard Kristen talk about her experience at Campowerment in a recent Spawned episode, but if not, the TL;DR is that it’s a female-led, family-run organization that empowers and reignites women through camp experience. They’ve also got an amazing non-profit, Give Her Camp, that offers scholarships to women so that they can have the opportunity to attend Campowerment. And unfortunately, they just lost everything in the Woolsey Fire.
If you’d like to send some love to these amazing women who run Campowerment and Give Her Camp as they rebuild their amazing business, we’ve got a fantastic way to do it, and maybe get some holiday shopping done while you’re at it. Our friends at One Tough Bitch (who we’ve featured here at Cool Mom Picks) are hosting a Jean Jacket Auction, with over 20 artist-designed one-of-a-kind jean jackets, including my own daughter Quinlan (mom brag alert).
But there are lots of names you might recognize from here, like Courtney Chu of Courtney Courtney, Vana Chupp of Le Papier Studio, Jaime Derringer of Design Milk, Handmade Charlotte, and Tree By Kerri Lee. There are a bunch of other artists you might not know… yet, and well, their jackets are pretty killer too (do not even try to outbid me on Nora Spillane’s jacket). Also, internationally-acclaimed mural artist Meg Saligman’s jacket is awesome.

Bidding is open through 11/28, or you can just buy one right now, knowing that proceeds will help a wonderful family-run business, who spends their days supporting and encouraging women, rebuild. Head on over and check out all the jackets (there are over 20!).They’re truly amazing wearable works of art, all for a very cool cause.
