I still remember the ’76 bicentennial (yes, I am that old), dressing in head-to-toe red, white and blue and waving to beeping cars at the end of our street. Now that I have kids, I try to find something patriotic for the kids to wear on the fourth. But since my wallet frowns upon one-day-only wearables, I have been on the lookout for tasteful, adorable and, yes, patriotic items the kids can look cute in beyond just a single day. –Christina
Whether they’re marching in a Fourth of July parade or just standing on the sidelines, these Chuck Taylor Flag Sneakers are bound to get noticed. I love Chucks in any color, though this stars-and-stripes version looks so much cooler than a bedazzled flag tee. (infant/toddler sizes at Piperlime)
of three safe nail polishes (for when they lick the ice cream off their fingers) and they’re all made in the USA of course.Though of course they are
pitched to girls, make no mistake, I have one little boy who will insist
his fingers get done up too. (at Chasing Fireflies)
great ideas, i am also a fan of a red and white shirt and jean shorts for the kids – patriotic and re-wearable!
