Houses up and down our street are starting to turn on their holiday lights, and it’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas in our neighborhood. My craft-loving kids would like for us to DIY everything holiday around here — cotton-ball snowmen, reindeer food, glitter wreaths…you name it. So when I discovered Papermade’s new book Paper Holiday, I knew I’d hit the holiday craft jackpot.
The book includes 20 Christmas ornaments you can make in about 10 minutes each — just punch-out, fold up, and hang on the tree. No scissors, glue, or tape required. It even includes paper hooks.
The ornaments are definitely Christmas specific, and include candy canes, gingerbread houses, Santa (of course), reindeer, and the adorable Sugarpants the Elf.

I think this is a great gift for grade-school aged kids or older. My 6-year-old would definitely need assistance, especially since there are no instructions beyond the labels on the tabs. (And he’d totally melt down if he ripped any of them as he removed them from the pages.) Older kids just need some nimble fingers to slide the heavy cardstock into tiny tabs to complete their 3D paper made ornaments.
So if you have younger kids like I do, I’d recommend making this a family project you can all enjoy together. Which is fine by me; how great to find an affordable little gift that lets me get in a little creativity time with the kids.
