Considering I have nursed for a total of 53 months since 2004 (yes, I counted), I have learned a few things about breastfeeding; one of which is that a good nursing bra is definitely worth the money.
Now these days, “good nursing bra” isn’t synonymous with “ugly straight jacket,” and thank goodness for that, because a sexy nursing bra like the ones from Cake Lingerie (now Cake Maternity), is quite refreshing when you’re feeling less like a woman and more like a feeding machine.
These bras are beautifully constructed with hearty, cotton-lined straps (nice touch) and lovely lace detailing. And I really love how these bras feature 6 clasp back closures, which means that you won’t need to purchase another one when your back starts shrinking.
You’ll find fantastic cup support with the no-underwire bras, but they do offer an underwire option if you prefer to have a little extra help. And while they’re definitely priced higher than the mainstream nursing bras out there (though knock about 10% off the price to convert to US dollars), I will say that in my experience, you definitely get what you pay for. In other words, do it for your boobs; they’ll thank you later.

I adore these. I have been wanting pretty nursing bras for years now and have never found anything that is 1.) actually pretty (not just a pink version of a regular frumpy nursing bra) and 2.) comes in realistic nursing mom sizes. Certainly if you’re going to make stuff for nursing mothers you might not want to stop at a D cup!
We love the ones from Bella Materna. Admittedly, I don’t get bigger than a D, but the BM bras are lovely and go to the bigger sizes for sure.

WOW… fabulous.. I’m looking thru them right now. I bought a bunch of bras from Motherhood maternity right after I gave birth to my son, but none of them provide proper coverage. My boobs were popping out of them every time I made a slight move!! It was such a waste of money especially that I was rewarding myself with nice nursing bra this time around. 🙁
With my first baby, I bought straight jacket style nursing bras from target. Wonderful support and coverage but horrid design. I felt unattractive the entire time! 🙁 And I think new moms need to feel that hidden sexy… right? 🙂
