I can’t imagine adjusting to a new school and a new country at the same time, but that’s a challenge many refugee children will be facing this back-to-school season. Which is why I loved learning that the Tiyya Foundation is organizing a Backpacks for Refugees Drive using an Amazon wish list, to make sure kids who are new to the US can get the backpacks, notebooks, and other back to school gear they need.
Such a terrific group of kids to help, right?

The whole donation process is a super easy, no excuses, two-click process. Check out the list of friendly, colorful backpacks they’ve picked out for children, then just add to cart and it will be sent to a child in need.
The one issue: Today is the last day of the initiative, so hurry!
Maybe you can even let your own kids select a gift from the list. That way when they’re dressed up in their own new fall duds, you can both be thinking of another child around their age, somewhere in this country, who’s feeling just a little more ready for the first day of school too.
