When I first heard about Hello Beautiful Films, I swooned. Who wouldn’t want a professionally written, edited and produced video of your children that blends your own photos and home video footage with new footage shot by a pro cinematographer? Not to mention the company’s collaboration with pioneer documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles which allows you to have your video shot by the same man who’s covered the Rolling Stones and the Dali Lama.
But the price. Oh, the price. If only I had a spare few grand I could cobble together from beneath the cushions of my couch.I swooned a second time when I learned that Hello Beautiful is now offering an affordable option called The Montage. For a price mere mortals can afford–just $100–you’ll get a beautifully edited montage of your family photos set to the perfect music.
Supervised by the two filmmakers behind the company, it’s surely a cut above whatever you think you can do (but will never end up doing) yourself. And it makes a spectacular gift to commemorate a baby’s first year, a child’s birthday, or just a grandma gift that makes up for all the "world’s greatest…" mugs you ever got her as a kid.
