With all toy recalls, everyone has been joking about making their own toys. But considering I can barely make a complete dinner, I don’t know that I can be trusted to handcraft a cool toy worthy of my picky 3-year-old.
But we can most certainly paint our own toys. Like the great wooden dinos from Rosie Hippos. Made from safe solid pine, these rolling Jurassic era creatures look great as their plain old wooden selves. But add a paint brush and some color, and imagine the possibilities: A princess brontosaurus? A punk rock stegosaurus? Your kids get to decide.
