Spurred on by one of our favorite readers seeking a not made-in-China Jack in the Box for her daughter this holiday, we went on a mad internet quest to help a mama out. Especially considering that the category leader has had its share of recalls this year.
Oh joy! Oh happy day! For our mad google skillz has lead us to the coolest Jack in the Box toys, beyond even our own expectations. These are not your classic monkey in a tin box playing Pop Goes the Weasel. They’re old fashioned (i.e. no crank), teeny at just 4″, and are totally handmade in the German mountains, right down to the papier maché “jacks” – a pierrot, a jester and a quirky birthday pig, or so it seems.
