For the last few years, my kids have been obsessed with this one brand of ravioli in our local supermarket. (They call it “Kid Ravioli.”) Because as it turns out, if you’re four years old, ravioli tastes better when it’s cut like a heart or a spaceship or a teddy bear. Who knew?
Kid Ravioli actually has a proper name– Jolie Ravioli.
And I’m so pleased to see this little Brooklyn company is now available
online and getting wider distribution. The pasta is made with 100%
natural ingredients, and it’s a good way to sneak in
veggies if you go for the cheese + broccoli flavor.
I love that the company is run by a devoted dad–in fact, that’s Paul’s
daughter Joli on the package. But what I love more is that my girls have
now outgrown the phase where they fight over who got more stars and who
got more dinosaurs. Also, that they’re starting to ask about the one
with the green packaging; the one with the broccoli inside. –Liz
Look for Jolie Ravioli
at a store near you like Whole Foods, Food Lion and Shop Rite, or order
online. At just $4.25 a pack, buy a bunch and store it in the freezer.
Trust me, your kids will go through it.
These look yummy. I just wish, however, that some of this type of “quick and easy” dinners that appeal to kids would be available without cheese.
With so many kids having food allergies – especially milk allergies – these days, it would seem there could be a market for cheese-less entrees.
My 3-1/2 year old daughter is allergic (anaphylactic) to dairy, egg and peanuts, and I can NEVER find a pre-packaged ravioli, tortellini or similar packaged pasta that doesn’t include cheese.
The search goes on!
We LOVE these! My 2 1/2 yr old son likes to trade me his hearts for my rocket ships. Tasty. :o)
Oh these look oh so yummy and my daughter (and I!) would just eat them up. However, shipping was ridiculously unreasonable! Over $130 shipping charges for a $40 order…not quite doable. Bummer. :/
I think you mean $30? And you’re right Cat, that’s very expensive. I hope they come to a store near you soon!
Mary ann, have you looked at Trader Joes (dry) pesto tortellini? I have no idea if the ingredients would work for you, but it’s yummy and inexpensive.
How sweet are those! i will have to keep an eye out for them.. so cute!
