We have a thing for Zappos. A big, hard, mad love kind of a thing. So we were thrilled when, as our newest sponsor, they asked us to choose a few of our favorite holiday shoes for boys and girls. That’s uh, kind of like our dream job.

As moms, even when we’re shopping for holiday shoes, we’re always looking for styles that last beyond the holidays, both in terms of construction and style–so don’t expect to see any snowmen motifs or snowflake appliques here.

And nothing that lights up. Promise.

GIRLS

Patent Mary Janes
We swear by Primiji Mary Janes
(above) which hold up beautifully well into spring (and even summer if you have
our girls). Red patent is classic to pair with holiday dresses, but
they look funky with skinny jeans too.

(infant, toddler and youth sizes starting at $56)

Festive Winter Boots
If foul weather strikes around the holidays, fear not. The Original Muck Company
makes kids boots that look adorable even with some white tights and a
fancy frock up top. That little faux fur accent is too cute.

(Sizes 10T-4Y, $64.95)

Metallic ballet flats
For
a break from the red and green, go with something sparkly. I find
silver gets more wear than gold, and I love the subtle pewter color in
these Umi ballet flats.
It’s a great choice if you’re out of the snow belt, and trust me, your
daughter won’t want to take these off whatever the season.

(Toddler and youth sizes, on sale for $59.99)

BOYS

Your First Black Oxfords
You can never go wrong with black oxfords
as a dress shoe, which will transition nicely from holidays to birthday
parties to (sniff) preschool graduation. Stride Rite makes a pair
that’s comfy and sturdy, at a price that fits too.

(Toddler sizes, $39)

Penny Loafers
Preppy comes in and out of style but penny loafers are forever. Sperry Kids is our go-to brand for the classics, and you can choose from a back or a subtle burgundy-brown.

(Youth sizes, $55)

For Early Walkers
Pediped has come a long with their collections, and these Pediped Nate boots
are no exception. They have grown-up styling, but with all the
flexibility, support and comfort you want for your little guy. Which
means they’re perfect for your holiday finest, and your everyday play
clothes. Score!

(infant, toddler, youth sizes $60)

You
can visit our sponsor Zappos (like you don’t already, ha) and find tons
of fabulous kids shoes just in time for the holidays.
