I admit to using plastic food containers for everything from storing leftovers to housing fresh made baby food. Yes, I cringe every time I put them in the dishwasher and I do find it a pain in the rear to take the extra step of pouring the contents in a porcelain bowl to microwave the food. But it’s not easy finding glass containers that snap shut as easily as the plastic ones.
Hooray for Wean Green (gotta love the name!), an eco-friendly line of tempered glass food containers with BPA-free, totally secure, and very pretty lids. What I love most about them is that they come in every size you need for keeping baby food fresh. From the 4 oz Wean Cubes (great for tossing in the diaper bag) to the sandwich cubes, there’s a size for every appetite.
I also love the Wean Green blog, which has awesome baby food recipes, like this baby mac ‘n cheese dish. I’m planning on cooking this one up tomorrow–and storing it in a Wean Green cube, of course. -Melissa
Glass baby food storage containers are $10.99 for packs of 2 and $21.99 for packs of 4 at Wean Green
Another great option that we used is the small 4 oz Ball canning jars! We use the next size up canning jars for our toddler’s drinking glasses – they are great when we’re on the go – just throw the lid on!
Very good information and innovation too.
