Every now and then I spot kids’ furniture that makes me wish I had a little expendable income, and that’s exactly how I feel about these amazing pieces from CounterEvolution.
Table Tots are quite possibly the coolest kids’ table sets I’ve ever seen. And “cool” doesn’t even cover it. This is heirloom-quality furniture with an amazing story worth telling for generations to come. Each set is completely handcrafted from recycled wood and steel rescued from closed-down bowling lanes and other buildings scheduled to be demolished, then finished using green-friendly practices. Fab.
And if the artistry looks familiar, it’s because designer Jim Malone’s work
has also been seen in places like Starbucks and Sweetgreen.
I’m completely in love with the amber waves, but you’ll soon be able to purchase them in their variety of standard stains and vibrant custom colors (above). And each piece is finished with a zero VOC, non-toxic stain. It’s a great way to make a little more use out of a smaller kitchen space.
If you’ve got a little more to spend, then
Table Tots 2.0 might be a smart investment. With a few simple fixes, it converts into a table or desk once your kids have outgrown it as mealtime seating.
Even though the gorgeous furniture is not necessarily in everyone’s budget, I can’t help but admire Malone’s commitment to creating something beautiful from materials that would have been wasted and turned into more unnecessary trash clogging our landfills.
