If you’re like me, you tend to get your brand-new 2013 calendar sometime…say, in March, when it’s on sale. Or you can be smart (like I’m trying to be this year) and get ready for January by starting now, with one of these gorgeous 2013 calendars. –Liz
I am so taken with this beautiful modern 2013 wall calendar by Wendy Chung of Etsy’s Dozi. Printed on cover weight paper, just hang the binder clip on your wall or bulletin board for a quick glance at the days and weeks. ($22)
Ana Bond’s handpainted designs for Rifle Paper Co. are always a favorite of ours, and when I saw this locally printed 2013 cities calendar hanging in a colleague’s office, featuring cities from Sydney to Cairo to London, I wanted it. And some plane tickets. Of course it’s on backorder. Order now and get yours right after the new year. ($26)
I love this 2013 letterpress calendar by Pressbound, which features traditional folk art motifs inspired by Polish wycinaki paper cuttings. It’s all printed on gorgeous stock, and comes in a little jewel case should you be willing to part with it. ($28)
Letterpress calendars are so elegant–I tend to have one over my own desk each year. This hand-printed 2013 letterpress calendar from Sesame Letterpress is so simple and classic, and very very pretty. At just 5.5″ tall it’s great for small spaces. ($20)
Daisy Janie’s handmade 2013 geometric wall calendar looks awesome in black and white, but kids will enjoy taking colored pencils to it and making it their own. This is 11×17 so it’s actually functional for scribbling in dates and appointments, too. ($25)
Marisa from Creative Thursday creates the most adorable illustrations, and she’s put some of the most popular together in her limited edition 2013 wall calendar. The 8.5″ tall calendar hangs from a pretty ribbon on a metal loop and I think it would be lovely in a child’s room. ($35)
If you dig a more retro-modern sensibility, this is such a cool calendar inspired by vintage airline tags all wrapped up in a cool tin. Girl In Gear Studio is on vacation right now (lucky girl) but you can order when she’s back on
Jan 4.
I am definitely digging modernPOP’s funny birds calendar featuring, well, funny birds. But not silly. they’re more funny in that sort of 20s era cartoony flapper girl kind of way. In fact, some of their feathers would make great hats. (Kidding!) Each card is 4×6 printed on nice textured card stock. ($21.50)
If you prefer the egg to the chicken (or funny bird), the minimalist wild bird egg letterpress calendar by artist Nicole Nissenden of Mink Letterpress is pretty gorgeous. There’s no better reminder that the entire year is full of new beginnings–not just January.
