I like shirts that kids and adults show we’re smarter than we are sassy–not that a little sass is so bad. The kids tees from Out of Print Clothing featuring classic book jacket art are a fave; we own Origin of the Species which my daughter picked because of “all the pretty animals” and I can hardly blame her. Now there are some new designs for adults including one in particular just for us children of the 70’s and the 80’s.
I seriously cannot believe that this Superfudge kids tee is old enough to be called classic, but then it is from the original 1980 cover art by Roy Doty. I suppose I’d only feel older if I saw its predecessor, Tales from a Fourth Grade Nothing. Oddly it’s not available in kids sizes yet, but men and women can proudly sport it as with all their shirts.
If you’re more sentimental, opt for the new Le Petit Prince book cover tee in French; make a statement with Richard Wright’s Native Son book cover tee or Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance; or be sassy in your own way with Betty Friedan’s The Feminine Mystique tee.
Then again, if I’m going for a provocative statement I might instead opt for Judy Blume’s Forever. I’m putting in my vote for that one to come out next. Moustache cologne, anyone? –Liz
