Essentially, Move For Hunger is a network of "socially-responsible relocation companies." When you're moving, set aside your unopened non-perishable items (so yes to soup cans and boxes of pasta, no to those freezer-burnt popsicles), and they'll deliver it to a local food pantry.
If you're a realtor, landlord, rent out your home through Airbnb or work in the moving industry yourself, it's a terrific resource to recommend to clients. If you're a class parent, PTA member or educator, they can also help you organize a food drive in your school.
Kristen and I were just so happy to learn about them. (And if you listen to the podcast, you'll hear just how happy we were!)
Hey, they take monetary donations too. You can even raise some money for them right now, in honor of Valentine's Day. Seems like a beautiful way to teach your kids about all the different ways we can express love for others.
Visit Move For Hunger for more info on what they do, and how you can be a part.
