Retail therapy is real these days for me, no apologies. But I’m not quite focused on what’s “in” right now — or not as much as usual. Just what’s comfy, cute, and will make me feel a little more put-together when I grab my get outside in my Brooklyn neighborhood for a safe, socially-distanced walk. So I started poking around the big Nordstrom sale, and….score! I found so many fantastic comfy women’s shoes on sale, it’s making my “add to cart” finger very itchy.
Here are just a few favorites I’m really liking — all up to 60% off! — which all get high marks from shoppers too. And oddly, they’re not all black either. Who even am I?
Just know that some of the perky product demo videos (“style this with a jean jacket for your next day off!”) may make you miss the old normal a whole lot.

UGG Sammy Breeze Slip-on Sneaker (40% off)
I always liked the original throwback slip-on Kids, and these are a stylish update, with a little more going on. I even like this coconut color — but you can also see the black up top. Either could get me through the rest of summer happily. And yes, Kristen, I am recommending a pair of UGGs. Things change.
BØRN Slide Sandal (50% off)
With nice cushioning in the sole and that fun leopard pattern, these slides combine comfort and summer style perfectly And…wait for it…they’re just $39.90! Yes, for both shoes! Maybe get them in two colors? Though I do admit I the leopard pattern best, which hides a subtly embossed brand logo.
ECCO BIOM Life Mary Jane Sneaker (33% off)
I fell hard for a pair of Mary Jane style sneakers about ten years ago when they first became a thing, and I’m happy to see them come back around. This highly-rated, flexible shoe from ECCO has a knitted upper so it’s practical for hot days when you wouldn’t otherwise consider sneakers. Let alone socks. Digging that minty green too.
Paul Greene Candice Slip-On Platform Sneaker (60% off)
Who doesn’t want a pair of “dressy sneakers” these days, right? The platform sole is chic but not overwhelming, I think the espadrille style upper is cool, especially in the summery coral color. They evidently have loads of cushioning and arch support too, unlike skater-style platforms that tend to land hard. I’d absolutely wear these with a summer dress or romper. Except I don’t own a romper. But maybe you do.
L’Amour de Pied Lace-Up Sandal (25% off)
Of course I’d have to have one shoe splurge in here, and this is it. Blending the best of a sneaker with the best of a stylish summer gladiator bootie, this pair is calling my name. Loudly. I love everything about it, right down to the stretchy heel strap and that rad lug sole. Plus at 25% off, it’s about 100% more appealing, right?
