The Rhythm is Gonna Get You

With the abundance of battery operated musical instruments out there screeching out some bizarre electronic form of "Twinkle Twinkle," I find it totally refreshing when I stumble upon some really great instruments that kids actually have to play themselves.

Take these rubber wood instruments from Zoo Rhythms. Not only are they perfect for the early childhood set, but they come in adorable animal shapes that make them extra appealing to little hands — as if a noise-making toy isn’t enough. It’s hard to beat a jingle bell shark or a giraffe shaker.
And while there is something to be said about toys with an off switch, just think how much you’ll save on batteries. Probably enough to buy you some extra special ear plugs. -Kristen
