Let’s Go Fly a Kite

I hadn’t flown a kite since I was a littlekid at the Jersey shore, but on a beautiful windy day at the beach last year, my daughter and I spent hours watching our little kite fly — until it broke and we had to retire it way too soon.
This year I’m going to be prepared with a kite better than the $2 tiger that we spent more time fixing than actually flying. I’m talking about the beautifulPetit Pan kites found at Rose and Radish. The bright colors of the dragonfly (pictured), or the grasshopper are sure to delight any child, and their intricate construction using strong, flexible bamboo will ensure that you won’t have to bring along the tape and glue.
With all the fancy toys and electronic games nowadays, it’s sort of nice to share in an activity with your kids that requires little more than just spending time with them. -Kristen
