Don’t ask me why exactly I still have the ribbons off the generic going-home gift the hospital gave us, but I do. I save and document everything, which is all well and good when you’ve got a first year baby journal to fill up, but after that you’re pretty much left to your own devices. Can you say "shoeboxes?"
Now that the school year is coming to a close, packrats like me will love the cool-looking keepsake album, School Years from Chronicle Books. Each folder marked from K through 12 can hold a few pieces of art, report cards, pics or souvenirs that you’ve been saving all year. And the pages give you space to jot down info like your kid’s teachers, friends, hobbies, even a checklist of what he wants to be when he grows up.
Of course I hope that by the 12th grade folder you’ll have that last one somewhat ironed out. –Liz
