Check my daughter’s wall shelves and you will find her books stacked in impractically haphazard piles. Why? If they tilt even 5 degrees in their upright positions, they knock the bookends over. Um, can you say design flaw?
Unless your child’s library consists no more than three of those little Golden Books (in which case you have greater issues than your bookends) you need something with some heft to keep the volumes from tumbling on little hands and heads. I think the Leather Zoo bookends at Cocoa Crayon are just awesome. Beautifully crafted from high quality leather, you’ll find heavyweights like pigs, bunnies and dinosaurs that are strong enough to be used as doorstops, let alone bookends.
(Wall Street parents – don’t miss the bull and bear. Hilarious.)
They’re expensive, yes. Because they actually work. Count me in for two pigs. –Liz
