If had to do one thing over with our nursery, it would be buying more items that look good after your kid hits two. As cute as those bunny rabbit rugs are under a crib–not so much with a kindergartener.
I think the letterpress rug at CB2
is so cool for a kid’s room, especially if you’re not doing the
pale pink/pale blue/gingham thing. Liora Manne’s letters are awesomely
random, making it more fun than a regular old alphabet rug. And the
muted colors could really anchor some pops of orange or yellow that
you’re already using.
Just don’t count on it to help your kid with his alphabet. –Liz

Nice rug! It’s definitely a good idea to think a little further when decorating the nursery – after just a couple of years when it’s time to change from crib to bed, you probably want to re-decorate.
Love the rug too…and your comment about using it to teach kids the alphabet!
Some families can leave one room as a dedicated nursery if planning additions to the family, but if not, good to plan ahead. Used neutral colored pattern and stripe carpet tiles to create an area rug in my last nursery design. Will work for several years as nursery changes to toddler room.
