As some of you know, I recently spent a week in Ethiopia with the amazing organization ONE, specifically to see the tangible good that foreign aid is doing for mothers and families around the globe. The amazing thing about ONE is that they never ask for your money–only your voice. And that voice matters indeed.

I’d love if you can take 30 seconds (really!) out of your day to do one little thing for them–and for all mothers–in honor of Giving Tuesday. And it won’t cost you a dime. Only about 30 seconds.

My small request: Please sign this petition to Congress to help save women’s lives in light of the Fiscal Cliff.

8 million people are on life-saving AIDS treatment today, and we cannot risk budget cuts to global AIDS programs that would mean 21,000 more babies born with HIV a year, and six times that many who could become AIDS orphans.

That translates not just to another health crisis, but more foreign aid being spent later for military intervention; when the infrastructure (not to mention actual people) is weakened in these countries, the number of productive workers dwindles, incomes decrease, and the populations become vulnerable.

In other words, make healthy babies, not war.

Sign the petition now; I know you won’t regret it.

And if you have an extra minute or two, check out this beautiful video featuring the amazing women I traveled with.

You’re sure to recognize some of your favorite bloggers. (You’ll even catch a few glimpses of yours truly.) We are from all around the
orld, of every background, every political denomination, with all kinds of views. The one thing we have in common–we are mothers committed to
supporting other mothers. Like I know our readers are too.

For more information and to keep up with the awesome things ONE is doing, I urge you to sign up to join the ONE moms. It will never cost you a dime.
