When we first discovered the limited-time indie design sale site Of A Kind, my first thought was get some kids stuff in there! And voila! My shopping hopes (for youโฆreally) have been answered, as they embark on their first ever kidsโ sale starting this morning, and weโve got the exclusive scoop.
Log on at 10AM ET, and youโll find a beautiful little dotted chambray dress from Emily McMaster of Mabo Kids in sizes 12 mo through 4/5.
(Yes, chambray. Because it seems this year, weโre not allowed to say โdenimโ anymore. Anyone else notice that?)
Is it cheap? Not exactly. But like the rest of the site, these are limited edition, US-made garments, stitched from natural fibers and supporting a small artist creating them all by hand. In fact, Emily take her inspiration from her own two little girls, Ruby and Mabel, who even contribute their own ideas for consideration.
I have always loved the idea of investing a little more in a few indie splurge pieces I can feel good aboutโalthough I do have the benefit of two daughters, and the guarantee of years of use.
This is the kind of easy dress your daughter can live in spring through fall. But if you love it, hurryโthere are only 40 of these and they go fast. After that, youโll have to shop Mabo Kids directly. Though not for the chambray dress. โLiz
Visit One of a Kind starting at 10AM Tuesday for the limited edition kids sale, and learn more about Mabo Kids on their website. Just for funโalso check out designer Emily McMasterโs film inspiration for her designs. Itโs surprising!
