Hi, I’m Liz and I’m a CVS addict.
It’s been a long slow build, only made worse–or better?–with the establishment of a brand new CVS in a charming old building a mere two block’s walk from my home. Danger! Danger!
Now, I’ve become That Mom who gets all excited when I pay, waiting to see if my receipt is one of those 8-foot long deals with a zillion ExtraCare rewards printed all over it.
Seriously.

One of the things I’ve always appreciated is that I can find the smaller and more natural brands I like to support in the aisles. They were one of the first to carry the Zarbee’s Natural Cough Remedies for children that are now a staple in our house, and I can grab Tom’s of Maine products including the kids’ toothpaste.
For me, the huge Burt’s Bees display is a must-stop for me because I can’t live without the Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Cream; and my newfound love is with EOS products, like the 100% natural lip balm spheres which (big hint) make excellent affordable tween gifts and stocking stuffers.
If you need a baby gift in a pinch there’s also now beautiful ready-made gift packs of Bumkins Diaper Bundles, and gift sets from Burt’s Bees Baby which we introduced to you this summer. And I find them all while grabbing my prescriptions which is such a time saver.
In any case, when they asked me to be tape a segment in their CVS Extra Care Adventure video series, I was like uh, when can I start?
Click over and I’ll share with you pretty much anything you ever wanted to know about how to earn Extra Care Bucks (I call it “free money” off-the-record; shhhh… I’m not supposed to do that) even just by filling a prescription there or getting your flu shot. Which? PSA: Get a flu shot please.
Yes, my kids really do open every single musical greeting card while I shop and dance in the aisles. (Sorry, Brooklyn CVS employees! Thanks for always being so cool about it.) And yes, that is my real key chain with the CVS Extra Care Card on it. And no, I am not a plumber, but thanks for asking. –Liz

I was SO pleased to find that I could either get up early and drive 30 miles to work through heavy traffic and work in a borrowed cubicle for 8 hours to get my flu shot for free, or I could go to the nearby CVS, give them less than $30, and get my flu shot in 5 minutes. GUESS WHICH ONE I CHOSE?
