It’s a small #firstworldproblem as far as parenting goes, but baby socks that don’t stay up are one of my pet peeves. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve spent more money than I care to admit on tiny pairs of socks the last two years, but it just sucks when one sock goes missing or sometimes, when both mysteriously disappear.
Knowing that I’ll never be as organized as I want to be, and that I’ll never get my two-year-old and four-month-old to cease pulling or kicking off their already-loose socks, imagine my delight to discover Little Grippers socks, a UK brand that specializes in baby socks that stay up.
What?!
It’s all thanks to a thin layer of clear (and hypoallergenic) silicon inside the cuff of each sock. And it evidently also has something to do with specially-developed robots that apply the silicon. All I know is that I’ve tried them, and they definitely don’t budge no matter how active your kid is, and with no irritation to my kids’ sensitive skin.
It also means they’re a pretty tight fit and the socks will leave a little mark around their legs, like you get when you wear a pair of jeans that are too tight — which is why I live in yoga pants. But then, it doesn’t seem to be a major issue, and that will probably bug you less than losing a sock every day.
Find Little Grippers socks starting at $5 a pair or gift packs of 3 starting at 16. They come in lots of cute patterns for babies through toddlers and even teens.
