Shopping for my tween niece can be hard. She’s not a little girl any more, but she’s not fully a teenager either. She wants cool stuff that’s still sweet and cute. So, I’m excited to have discovered The Make Arcade on Etsy (thanks to Liz). These adorable but still cool DIY kits are going to be perfect Christmas gifts for her. And she’s going to love making her own jewelry and lampshades and plush donuts.
Because plush donuts are awesome. As any girl will tell you these days.

I think the reason these will be such a big hit with tweens is that they’re making something they can actually use in their rooms or wear, like that awesome glitter brooch at top. They’re not such simple crafts that they come across as babyish, and they really will make their room or outfit look that much cooler with a personal touch.

And at prices for a box under $25 — some even under $10 — these are an easy add-on gift that will most definitely not be a waste of money. That said, be aware that they do ship from the UK, so go ahead and order a bunch for your nieces and nephews, or to keep and give as birthday gifts throughout the year. They’ll make life (or at least your constant to-do list) so much easier.
