Feeding kids! We all love it so much!
Hahahah. No.
Well, maybe some of us do. But most of us — it’s just another one of those things we have to do as parents, and make the best of it.
That’s why it was so fun to speak this week about that very thing, with the super delightful, down-to-earth, and very funny Siri Daly, the TODAY Show food contributor who you can often catch doing cooking segments with her husband, Carson Daly.
Siri is also a mom of three, and the author of the blog Siriously Delicious, and the brand new bestselling cookbook of the same name, Siriously Delicious: 100 Nutritious (and Not So Nutritious) Simple Recipes for the Real Home Cook (available from our affiliate Amazon, or bookstores everywhere).
From the title alone, you can imagine she’s got some amazing tips about making mealtime, cooking, and feeding kids overall a little more enjoyable, and we’re so happy to get to chat with her about it.
Take a listen! You can spare 30 minutes, right?
Some of the topics we cover:
-Her own favorite food blogs, from the Pioneer Woman to Weelicious.
-The trick to making “happy food.”
-How to approach feeding kids of different ages.
-The importance of getting kids in the kitchen to cook with you.
-To sneak (healthy foods into other foods) or not to sneak…that is the question.
-How to address the biggest cooking issues that busy parents face (and we often see in our Recipe Rescue Facebook community)
-Tricks for meal-planning and easy dinners for weeknights. (Kristen shares the cutest idea!)
-The joy of leftovers and tips for “fridge-cleaning recipes”
-Siri’s own favorite go-to recipes from her cookbook.
-The importance of taking a break from cooking.
-The problem with Junior Mints. (Well, it’s mostly Liz’s problem.)
