As moms ourselves, we really value our sanity - and fortunately, there are a slew of awesome products out there that help us do just that, several of which have been rounded up by our own Publisher and Editor in Chief Liz Gumbinner on th…
I still remember the moment I found the perfect little purple striped cotton girls dress from Petit Bateau. It was a splurge for sure. But I was pregnant with #2, and knew I'd get a whole lot of use out of it two times around. (You can e…
When I was a kid, we carried our Halloween treats in pillow cases because we were greedy little goblins who didn't mind having candy-corn stuck in our hair later on. But again, my kids get to have all the fun with none of the hideous pol…
I don't get to take a bath in my Jacuzzi tub very often, mainly because it's full of tiny little teacups and saucers and one random pink pig who, I'm told, likes hot chocolate and cake. My kids have pretty much taken over the tub that ma…
We know that "Jeggings" are pretty much the fashion word for fall, and while we will probably be making fun of ourselves in ten years for it, we're kind of in love with them right now. Especially on kids. My own girls have a couple of pa…
I still crack up when people find a blog post of mine about sleep and babies, and ask me for advice. Me? Me who still, five years later, can't get my kids into a normal bedtime routine? Me, who still has to sleep with a three year-old's …
Everybody goes gaga for a squishy new baby. Not only do they look like Winston Churchill and smell like heaven, but you can dress them up the cutest little thumb-sized shoes without the scuffing and "Oops, we left it at the playground" i…
Well after months of work, we can finally let you know the big news that's been keeping us all busy lately: The official launch of Cool Mom Tech ! Whoo! Don't worry, you don't have to be a so-called techie to feel at home over there. You…
I've had a rash of friends and family having babies lately (welcome to the world little Drew Micah!) so I've had baby gifts on the brain quite a bit. I tend to get something off the registry for the shower, plus a little something-someth…
I'm having a thing for wooden decor lately; not sure if it's the fall in the air, or the fact that I spent way too long at Bo Concept last weekend drooling over dining room tables. Either way, I keep reimagining my apartment with more wo…
I'm a bit of a germ freak. Okay, a lot of a germ freak. Like the kind of person who has about twelve bottles of hand sanitizer on the go at any given time. And kids who use the word "sanitizer" like it's a normal thing for them to be say…
Love it or hate it ( and we know the book is a bit polarizing with our readers!), there's a reason Goodnight Moon has been around since the late 1940's and is still a favorite today; there is something calming and beautiful about the rep…
Going back a few years, I held fast to the belief that if I was going to be stuck out of my bed in the middle of the night rocking an infant , I deserved to play a little night music that would be awesome and make us both (oh please, oh …
I admit that I'm a sucker for a fancy pair of jeans, mostly because I've found over the years that they just wear and fit better. And after almost four kids on an already hard to fit body, those things are really hard to find at budget p…
Sure, as a seasoned mama, you know that even the cutest plate won't keep the applesauce out of baby's hair and the peas out of her nose, but hope springs eternal. And really, what makes a better baby gift than adorable tot-sized tablewar…
Fun prints on tights are in this fall, as we've been told by oh, pretty much every fashion guru anywhere. (No, we don't have a direct line to every fashion guru everywhere but we read a lot!) I love the idea of pairing more neutral color…
Trying to agree on a tea kettle with the sigOth last weekend in a Maine gourmet shop was nearly as difficult as trying to agree on a baby name. The kitchen is more or less his domain (the culinary school degree grants him as much), so he…
My kids are all puzzle fans, as evidenced by the thousands of cardboard and wooden pieces strewn about my floor at any given time of the day. But we've yet to see anything like the new multiple solution shape puzzles from one of our fave…
As of today, I officially have two children in school. (Sniff!) So we did some serious back to school shopping a few days ago and learned there was much awesomeness to be had at Old Navy . It's a lucky coincidence that this week the shop…
I've only been waiting for this stroller for six years. Well, I guess only three, really, since that's when my second child came into the picture. And that's when I started wondering why Bugaboo didn't have a double stroller. Not an issu…
When it comes to iPhone apps and kids, I'm a big believer that simple is better. Too many bells and whistles usually means too many "Mom, come fix this!" calls from the other room. (And it's usually far more dire sounding and less polite…
In a house full of girls, my son is used to playing with pink ponies and pretty castles. Really, I'm all for it. But it is nice to find pretend play toys that are a little more gender neutral too. The eco-friendly castle tower from Imagi…
Even though it's still in the 80s here in the deep south, I've heard rumors that the weather is already starting to change in other parts of the country. Lucky you ! But whether you're still in shorts like me or you're pulling out your f…
Though I was long ago (like, on day one) over the nightly battle that was part of our bedtime routine, I never, ever tired of the snuggly part, where we wrapped up and read as much as possible before admitting it was time for lights out.…
