It’s always nice cracking open some children’s books to get your kids into the spirit of the holidays, but not every parent is looking to do it through biblical tales or the Santa story. A cool alternative: Positive Spin Press offers three fairy tales–literally–from author Lisa Sferiazza Johsnon that do a lovely job of exploring the season without favoring any one religion over another.
Each one features the beautifully drawn Eve from illustrator Tucker Johnson, along with her fairy pals as they all celebrate Halloween, Christmas and other winter holidays, some of which I’d never even heard of before. And if you knew my daughter–well, she loves her fairies. And she definitely loved these books. – Rita
