Every shower needs a centerpiece, and this one beats the strained peas out of a diaper cake, or one of those Cake-Wreck-y pregnant belly confections that are a little too reminiscent of Sigourney Weaver in Alien.
It’s the lovely Wishing Tree
by Hello Hanna, and it truly is a gift that keeps on giving. Fashioned
of heavyweight recycled paper, the Wishing Tree comes with 20 moveable
sticky flowers and 40 wishing ribbons in an adorable stand-up display.
Place the flowers where you want them and let guests write their wishes
on the pretty little ribbons, then hang them from the tree. The end
result is an elegantly mod centerpiece dripping with good wishes for the
mama to be.
And here’s the cool part: You can buy new flowers,
cute birdies, and 40-packs of wishing ribbons in different colors and
reuse (or lend) the Wishing Tree again and again to pass the good vibes
along. It would likewise wow guests at birthday parties, housewarmings,
engagement
parties, and later baby showers. And when you’re finally done, you can
recycle it yet again and help another wishing tree grow. ~Delilah

My first favorite post was the Safer Toy Guide 2007 (https://coolmompicks.com/safertoy07/) – for two reasons: First, I felt justified in my quest to ban all blinky blinky gaudy plastic crap from my house and child’s life (up to that point was made to feel snobby and even a bad mom who denies her child entertainment for the selfish reason of maintaining her sanity and sense of style (??!!!) Second, it was a very convenient shopping list for grandparents (the title being genius – see, these are SAFE toys, not just strange toys that Walmart doesn’t carry).
Luv ya’ll!
