If ever there was a “We knew her when,” it has to be one of our favorite mom designers, Kiersten Hathcock of Mod Mom Furniture. We featured (and purchased) her gorgeous mid century toy box waaaaay back in 2007 and since then, not only has she been featured on Shark Tank and the Nate Berkus Show, she’s recently added to her array of toy box designs for kids.
We’re thrilled that Kiersten recently welcomed the Maude toy box to her family of handmade storage chests. It’s similar to her well-loved Owyn toy box, only Maude has a large storage bin as well as an open air cubby on the side, which makes it the perfect addition to a baby nursery or kid’s bedroom.
Each of her pieces are handcrafted from beautifully eco-friendly birch plywood using traditional Amish techniques, right here in the USA. They’re finished with a water-based polyurethane, which makes them pretty and shiny without all the icky chemicals. And best of all, they ship free and come fully assembled (whoo!) which means all you have to do is find the perfect spot for your beautiful new toy box. -Kristen
You can purchase the new Maude modern toy box at Mod Mom Furniture. And get 15% off Maude through June 30th by emailing Kiersten and mentioning Cool Mom Picks in your email. Yay!
I remember a design of hers I think it had an owl or something? Anyway this is both familiar AND awesome.
Sigh. I think I’m in love with all these pieces. Too bad it’s not in the budget right now. Not that I don’t think they would be worth every penny!
