When my kids were little, Manhattan Toy’s Whoozit and Skwish were among their favorite playthings. And while they are still tried-and-true gifts for all the younger nieces and nephews in our lives, I am thrilled to find a fun and creative line of toys that Manhattan Toys has developed with older kids in mind.
Manhattan Toy’s Imagine I Can play kits are fun open-ended play and crafts kits for preschoolers and bigger kids. I appreciate that they are so reasonably priced that it’s easy to set aside a few for those rainy days that creep up all spring and summer.
At only $5, the Imagine I Can Lace & Play animals are a cute way for little kids to practice their fine-motor skills by assembling and lacing up animals like the adorable hedgehog or wide-eyed sheep.
Or, grab a few Create and Color kits, like the alien here, or the super-cute Pet Rock Kit at top for a birthday party activity that doubles as take-home party favors.
For kids like mine who love to play “pretend anything”, check out their Pirate Treasures or Secret Agent Spy Gear, which come with well-made props for an afternoon of treasure hunt or spy games. And the Feel Better doctor kit‘s wooden toys are a lot nicer than cheap plastic stuff, but at a price that is still less than our insurance co-pay. –Christina
